Bedtime

It's 9:40 pm. I feel like it's well past midnight, and I'm exhausted. All I want is a big glass of water, my pajamas, and to curl up and fall asleep watching a movie. That is what sounds wonderful to me right now. So, that's what I'm going to do! Good night!!!

Favorite People

I have many favorite people...

There is a hammock on the patio of my apartment complex...it broke a couple weeks ago, and I've missed it. I always sat on the hammock, and everyone knew it. Thursday, it got fixed. The person that fixed it became one of my favorite people.

That same night, I got a last minute invite to the Brad Paisley concert. So, last night, I went to the concert. The person that invited me became one of my favorite people.

I spent time talking to one of my cousins. He tends to talk a lot, but still...I loved talking to him for so long. He is definitely one of my favorite people (as are many of my cousins).

Then, there's a friend of mine that is so patient with me and comforts me when I'm struggling. He doesn't judge when I have a problem and just lets me talk through things. Sometimes he gives me advice, sometimes he just listens and my own talking helps me figure it out. He is one of my favorite people.

And, of course, there's the girl who lives almost the same life as me. We work at the same place...almost. We are in the same dinner group. We live in the same ward, so we have the same ward activities. And when we're not doing any of that, we're together a lot. We even like the same type of guys. The biggest difference is that she is right-brained and thinks artistically and creatively, whereas I am left-brained and think mathematically and logically. (We even had the same conversations with co-workers on the same day about this.) Without a doubt, she is one of my favorite people.

I am blessed with many amazing people in my life. I can't name them all, but I'm grateful for everyone of them.

Timp

I hiked Timp today.
We left Provo at 6:30 AM and started hiking at 7:00. I hate mornings, but this morning was beautiful!I feel like people who do this hike are crazy. It was hard and now I can't move and I don't ever want to do it again. However, that being said...I climbed a mountain today. Do you know how amazing of a feeling that is? I accomplished something amazing and did something hard and I climbed a mountain. It's an amazing feeling. Plus, being up on the top of the mountain and looking out over everything was awesome. As hard as it was, I am so glad I did it!And after we got back, we went to Cafe Rio...partially to celebrate the fact that we did it, partially because no one wanted to cook and we were all hungry. It was a fun day that doesn't need to be repeated...at least not any time soon. :)

Room to Improve

It's never a good thing when you wake up in the morning wanting to cry because of the dream you just had. Hopefully today will improve from the way it started. I don't want it to continue this way.

Amazing Day

My birthday was amazing! The highlights of my day are as follows...
1- Staying up until 2:30 talking to an amazing friend. (see previous post)
2- Getting a chance to sleep in for a little bit. (see previous post)
3- Reading the Happy Birthday to You! book by Dr. Suess at work. (yeah, so I was really excited...what can I say)

4- Miniature party at work.
5- Finishing the Book of Mormon. (2 months ago, I decided to make a goal to read the Book of Mormon by my birthday. Even though I didn't always stay on the schedule I planned, I was able to finish it. It felt amazing!)

6- Getting kidnapped for dinner with my awesome friends. (I was told that I was going to have dinner with a friend that hasn't been in Provo for a while, and was extremely excited. I went down the stairs to head over to his apartment and got ambushed. I ended up with a pillowcase over my head and my hands in handcuffs...which, p.s. left marks on my wrists that were there all night. They took me to a park where we had pizza and just hung out for a little bit. So much fun!)

(Pictures to come)

7- Wonderful party with lots of great people. (I'll be honest and say that I didn't know how many people would actually come, but I was truly surprised. Lots of friends, cake and ice cream, fun decorations, and a small bit of live entertainment! Seriously, a perfect party!)

8- Amazing friends who made today perfect! (I have truly been blessed with incredible friends. No one can really know how much this day meant to me.)Thank you everyone for such a Perfect Day!!!

Happy Birthday to ME!!!!!!!

It's going to be a great day! It's starting out great...aside from only 5 hours of sleep last night. But that happened because I was talking to a great friend. To start my birthday off (and I mean in the 12:00 am way) I realized how much two people that I love really care about me. And that's one of the greatest birthday presents I could have gotten (so, thank you!!!). Then I don't have to be at work as early as I was planning and got to sleep in just a little bit longer than I have the rest of the week. And it's just going to be a great day!!

Let it Go

On the way home from work, I drove through a rainstorm. The song on the radio was Tim McGraw's "Let it Go." It spoke to my heart...

The words that made the biggest impression on me are the chorus:
Today I'm gonna keep on walking
I'm gonna hold my head up high
Gonna leave it all behind
Today I'm gonna stand out in the rain
Let it wash it all away, yeah wash it all away
I'm gonna let it go

I can't really explain the effect those words had on me. But this afternoon, I spent half an hour standing out in the rain and thinking. It felt amazing. I have been struggling with something the last few weeks, and today I took a major step toward healing. I let the rain wash away some of my fears. It's not all better, but it will be. With time, I will be fine and will be able to completely Let it Go.
